Muslim Unity Day Part-1
Muslim Unity Day is a 6 year old tradition started by some young Muslims of Bay Area to get together at Great America park and enjoy the rides, music, entertainment, halal food and each other's company without worrying about moon sighting type divisive issues. This year WBT-TV My Morning Show team was there to cover the event. Here are the first part of the highlights from the event.

PACC-ICC-AMUAA South Asian Eid Celebration
Afsheen Afzal goes to India Community Center (ICC) where South Asians celebrated Eid together. Pakistani American Culture Center (PACC) and Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association (AMUAA) collaborated with ICC to bring the Pakistani and Indian communities together to celebrate Eid together. Besides the children's fashion show and dances, the main performance by Iqbal Qasim singing classical Ghazals and Film songs was appreciated by all in attendance. WBT-TV bring you the highlights from the program.
Unheard Voices of 9/11 (September 11 Special)
California State Assembly Member Paul Fong organized a community hearing to discuss and learn about the impact of 9/11 on the Muslim, Arab, Sikh, and South Asian communities. The sponsoring organizations included The Sikh Coalition, The California Asian Pacific Legislative Caucus and the California Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs.

Aatika goes to Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, California where India Community Center organized and bring together over 40 non-profit community service organizations to walk or run for a cause. In 1930 Gandhi walked 240 miles to start a non-violent revolution that brought the most powerful empire in the world to its knees. Sevathon is in memory of that event and the spirit of community work and service to humanity.
Basant Kite Festival in Silicon Valley
Aatika Sultana goes to Basant / Jashn-e-Baharan mela and Kite Flying Festival in the heart of Silicon Valley, in the city of Sunnyvale, California. The event was organized by Pakistani American Culture Center (PACC) in cooperation with India Community Center (ICC). Let's see how Pakistani-Americans and Indian Americans celebrate this Millennium old South Asians tradition in the high tech center of the world.

Morning show team covered the International Urdu Poetry Mushira organized by Aligarh Muslims University Alumni Association of Northern California (AMUAA-NC) at India Community Center (ICC). Many poets from India, Pakistan and USA took part in the Mushaira, reciting their poems.

Indian and Pakistani Centers celebrated Eid together
India Community Center and Pakistani American Culture Center in collaboration with Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association celebrated Eid together with a Sufi theme this year.
Event started with children Eid dress parade and Roza Kushaie gifts followed by sufi music program with main performer for the evening by the name of Naeem Abbas Rufi. Dinner was served by Mehran restaurant. The event took place at ICC.
